100's of guests comments
Guest book
There are 2 guest books at Buttercup Cottage, both crammed with literally 100's of guest comments over the years. We have loved reading through both of them with a fire lit. We can’t tell you how much we love hearing about our guests' stay and we are so proud that everyone loves the cottage as much as we do. There are also some great tips from guests for visiting Castleton, some walks around Mam Tor and Edale Valley.

We had such a wonderful stay, the best cottage we have ever stayed in - loved every minute - Highlights - Dragons Back - 3 Peaks, lovely food at Robinsons and Bulls Head - Thank you very much!
-----
This was our first time coming up to the Peak District and Buttercup Cottage was the perfect place to stay, getting to see Luds church, Roaches, Mam Tor - and from the garden, Cave Dale (fab) dragons back and more! But getting to come back to Castleton and get cosy with the fire on and a glass of wine made it!
Can't wait to come back already, the BEST place! ♡

Wow. Weather was beautiful, where better to have morning coffee outside. Walked Mam Tor & Great Ridge, Dinner at George Inn, Peveril Castle & Cave Dale walk next up to Winnats Pass (walking poles recommended). Great toastie at Tilly's, coffee at Castleton Coffee Company.

Went to Eyam, Plague village - lovely tea room! Walk at Padley Gorge, very busy - Half Term (I work in Education so have no choice!). Haddon Hall & Chatsworth a must if you love history & Art then 8 1/2 mile walk at Derwent Water. Peak District Fairholmes. Lovely cottage - everything you need. As turn can right way.

Hard to explain how relaxing + comfy this cottage is. If you are cooking here there is nothing missing in the kitchen. Beds comfy, shower great, a lovely village (even in the rain) - what more do you want. Our 2nd stay here + hopefully not our last.
We had a wonderful stay. The location is beautiful and the property is very well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable visit. It's ideally located for Mam Tor. The outdoor space is peaceful and relaxing. We would happily return and highly recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful stay. What a fantastic location, we made the most of the excellent tours / walks you can do by foot. Our thighs may never forgive us for Mam Tor, but wow, what a view. Also, a long walk, what an excellent cottage to come back to. So thoughtfully appointed. We loved it and hope to be back!

It did state there was a hamper with drink + snacks, we didn't have this, however, there was everything else dishwasher tablets, laundry powder, bathroom nessesities, salt / pepper + condiments so really not complaining. Everything has been perfect. We visited all the pubs in the village which served lovely food, especially the black bull the walks are so scenic + the caverns are worth a visit, we will be definitely returning, would like to visit at Christmas time, magical x x
