A Warm Welcome to Buttercup Cottage
Our Story
Brothers Mark and Edward Roberts purchased Buttercup Cottage in May 2024. We are so proud and happy to offer our home for you to enjoy like we do. Since ownership we have made numerous upgrades to decorations, bedding, towels and furnishings and regularly visit to enjoy the amazing house and location.
We have furnished and fitted out the cottage to the highest possible spec and you'll find more additions than potentially any cottage you have stayed. We supply every conceivable kitchen ware item, spice rack, salt, pepper, sauces, kitchen towel, detergent, emergency toiletries... the list is endless.
The cottage will stay in our family for the rest of time and we will continue to upgrade and replenish stocks as we stay at least 8 times a year.

Our love of Castleton started young!
This photo was taken in 1987 with our father Miles just 40 metres from Buttercup. We are so proud and happy to offer our home for you to enjoy like we do.
35 years on
Our dad Miles took this photo a few metres from the cottage over 35 years ago and its barely changed! To think we'd own Buttercup Cottage back then would have been unthinkable.

Views from the garden
Viewing the property for the 1st time it was the views from the garden that made our mind up about buying Buttercup. 360 degree views, Win Hill, round to Mam Tor and Peveril Castle to the front. The sunsets can be remarkable, particularly enjoyed with a G&T.
Every direction is simply breath-taking, view more about the area here:
We love dogs and walks
Mark raised Buddy from 3 months and is now 5 years old. He's the sweetest, intelligent and fittest lab who loves water and walks, the longer the better. Milo is Edward's Akita-Staffy cross who gets lots of attention and speaks on command. We have made sure they both, and other furry friends enjoy Buttercup Cottage. Here they are in The Castle pub garden, just a 4 mins stroll from the front door.
